Hi guys! Really loving this series (I'm up to Chapter 7). Basic question. If Macallan is immortal and descended from immortals (including from Seinshu (great voice, Christof)), how is it that both of her parents are dead (or are they)?????? :-)

The Immortals can suspend the human aging process if their modified cellular structure is periodically re-energized by Starstone energy. A by-product of this process is enhanced strength, speed and health - but Immortals are not immune to physical damage and can be killed (as you will see later in the story).

In terms of the fate of Macallan's parents, you learn much more about them and their fate in the upcoming Special Edition Episode, The Rebellion, which will be coming out January 2012.
