Verty cheeky question but it is burning away.
The quality of this is obvious and very high, thank you for that makes a great listening experience, but how on earth do you fund it.
You give it away free but the work, the actors, the sound effects. these must need paid for. how do you do it

Not cheeky at all. Currently, I pay for the costs of Leviathan myself. While the costs are not insubstantial, the plan is to continue to give Season 1 & 2 away for free, but charge a nominal fee for Special Edition Episodes and premium content. For instance, when Season 2 drops later this year, listeners will have the option of paying $25 - $30 to have the entire season at once (The Director's Cut) as opposed to waiting two weeks for each episode to drop. In addition, The Director's Cut of Season 2 will contain several hours of additional content as well as the hour-long epilogue that will set up other future Leviathan related podcasting projects.

While $25-30 may seem steep, Season 1 was close to 25 hours of content which would make Season 2 cheaper than the Special Edition Episodes (currently at $1.99 - $2.99 each for about an hour of content) and on par with many audiobooks that are shorter and do not feature original music, sound effects and actors.
